Moorish Architectural Elements - Moorish Plaster
Moorish Plaster Carvings and Moroccan plaster molds are a substantial part of Moorish, Islamic India, Andalusian and Arabesque Architecture. Some of the best display of plaster work can be seen in the famous Alhambra palace in Spain. The plaster art is still practiced throughout Morocco. The craft has evolved Today to include a modern interpretation. Using the same traditional techniques, Moroccan and European designers are introducing new and simplified versions of the classic plaster applications. We now find islamic star and other geometric shaped plaster patterns round contemporary style fireplaces and covering entire walls, instead of the traditional wall frieze and door surrounds.
